Bruce assists domestic and international entrepreneurs with their business and estate law matters
Bruce was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1989, after a year in Tokyo Japan working at international law at the Kojima Law Offices. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia (1986), preceded by undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University in business, philosophy and humanities.
In 1990 he joined a group of West Broadway lawyers. That nucleus went on to establish the business law firm of Kerr Redekop Leinburd and was Bruce’s home for almost 30 years. The doors to that office closed in 2019, as many of Bruce’s old associates retired, while Bruce continued to practice, now independently under Redekop Law Corporation, collaborating with friends and colleagues from past.
Bruce’s general approach to legal matters is to evaluate each matter in its broader context and to understand how the elements interact. He tries to be thorough in studying a problem before execution, yet mindful of the bottom line. Bruce likes to set realistic goals and achieve them. He enjoys the human relationships, the art of the deal and is rewarded by insights and knowledge that a diverse business and succession law practice has provided along with many enduring friendships developed over more than 35 years of legal practice.
Bruce likes to stay active walking, attempting golf, skiing, bicycling, gardening, and travelling the world.
